We understand that terms and conditions are not the most exciting thing to read, so here are the key things we want you to know upfront. Play Moments is here to give parents and carers simple, off-screen play ideas to enjoy with their child. It is designed to support everyday play and connection and be a supporting tool to develop language, communication and social & emotional skill, not to replace professional advice or emergency support.

The short version

  • Play Moments is a play app for parents and carers of children aged 0–8. You must be 18 or over to use it.
  • It suggests fun, off-screen play activities. It is not a medical, diagnostic or emergency service.
  • Please keep your login safe and use the app as intended.
  • Joining our research study is optional, and you can leave at any time.
  • You can close your account whenever you like. These terms follow the law of England and Wales.

1. About us and these terms

Play Moments (“the app”) is provided by Moonshot Global Consulting Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in England and Wales with company number 12476332.

These terms are the agreement between you and us for using Play Moments. Please read them carefully. They sit alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we look after your information.

You can reach us at support@playmoments.app

2. A few words explained

We have tried to avoid jargon. Where we do use a particular word, here is what we mean by it:

WordWhat we mean
YouThe parent or carer who sets up and uses the account.
Your childThe child you are using Play Moments to support.
The appThe Play Moments app and everything in it, including activities, summaries and content.
The pilotOur early trial of Play Moments with a group of families.
The studyThe separate, optional research that uses recognised questionnaires.

3. Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using Play Moments, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app.

4. Who can use Play Moments

To use Play Moments you must:

  • be 18 or over;
  • be the parent or carer of the child you are supporting, or have permission to act for them; and
  • set up and manage the account yourself – children do not create accounts or log in.

You are responsible for how the app is used under your account.

5. Your account

When you create an account, please:

  • give accurate information and keep it up to date;
  • keep your login details private and do not share them; and
  • let us know promptly if you think someone else has used your account.

If you break these terms in a serious way (for example, by trying to access it without permission, sharing your login widely, copying our content, or using the app in a harmful or unlawful way), we may need to suspend or close your account. We explain what happens to your information when an account closes in section 13 and in our Privacy Policy.

6. What Play Moments is – and what it is not

Play Moments is a friendly tool to support everyday, off-screen play between you and your child. It suggests activities, offers gentle prompts, and gives you simple summaries to help you understand your child’s strengths and journey.

Please read this part carefully.

  • Play Moments is not a medical device, and it is not a diagnostic, healthcare or therapy service.
  • Any checks, summaries or “early signals” in the app are for support and personalisation only. They are not a professional assessment and do not tell you how your child is developing.
  • The app does not replace advice from your GP, health visitor, speech and language therapist, or any other professional. If you have concerns about your child, please speak to a professional.
  • Play Moments is not for emergencies. If a child is at risk or needs urgent help, contact the emergency services on 999 or seek urgent medical help.

7. Using the app properly

To keep Play Moments safe and useful for everyone, please do not:

  • use the app for anything unlawful, harmful or dishonest;
  • try to break, hack, copy, or interfere with the app or its security;
  • upload anything harmful, or pretend to be someone else; or
  • use the app or its content for your own commercial purposes without our permission.

8. The play activities and your child’s safety

The activities are suggestions for you to use with your own judgement. You know your child best.

  • Always supervise your child during activities and choose what is suitable and safe for them.
  • Check that any everyday items used in an activity are safe and age-appropriate.
  • Stop any activity if your child is unhappy, unwell or uncomfortable.

You remain responsible for your child’s safety and wellbeing at all times.

9. Taking part in the research study

You may be invited to join our optional research study. Taking part is your choice, and it will never affect your normal use of the app.

  • If you join, we will explain what is involved and ask for your clear, written consent first.
  • You can stop taking part at any time, without giving a reason.
  • Some families may receive a small thank-you, such as a voucher; we will always be open about this.

How we use study information is explained in our Privacy Policy and in the study’s own information sheet.

10. Personalised suggestions and AI

Play Moments uses automated tools, including a form of artificial intelligence (AI), to suggest and adjust activities, and to create simple summaries for you. This always works within limits we set, and our team writes and reviews the activities the app can choose from.

These suggestions and summaries are there to help, but they will not always be perfect and are not professional advice. Please use your own judgement and, where needed, speak to a professional.

11. Our content

The app, its activities, designs, text, characters and other content belong to us or our partners and are protected by law. You may use them for your own family’s personal, non-commercial use within the app.

Please do not copy, share, sell or reuse our content outside the app without our written permission.

If you send us feedback or ideas, you are happy for us to use them to improve Play Moments, without owing you anything for them.

12. What we are, and are not, responsible for

We work hard to make Play Moments helpful and reliable, but we cannot promise it will always be available, error-free or uninterrupted, and it is provided on an “as is” basis.

To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for:

  • any loss that was not a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms;
  • how you choose to use the activities, summaries or suggestions; or
  • issues caused by your device, your internet connection, or services we do not control.

Your important legal rights are protected.

Nothing in these terms limits or removes any rights you have that cannot be limited by law. In particular, we do not exclude our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to exclude. If you use the app as a consumer, you keep all your consumer rights.

13. Cost

Play Moments is free for families taking part in the pilot. If we ever introduce any charges in future, we will tell you clearly and ask for your agreement before you pay anything.

14. Changing or stopping the app

We may update, improve or change parts of the app over time. Occasionally we may need to pause or stop the app, or a feature within it. If a change is important, we will give you reasonable notice where we can.

15. Closing your account

You can close your account at any time from within the app. When you do, you can choose to delete your account only, or to delete all of your information.

We may close or suspend an account if these terms are seriously or repeatedly broken, or where we are required to by law.

When an account closes, we handle your information as described in our Privacy Policy, keeping only what we are legally required to keep.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make an important change, we will let you know – for example through the app or by email – and the “last updated” date at the top will change. If you keep using the app after that, you are agreeing to the updated terms.

17. Questions or complaints

If you have a question or are unhappy about anything, please contact us at support@playmoments.app. We will always try to put things right.

For concerns specifically about your information, you can also contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

18. Which law applies

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also be able to bring a claim in your local courts.

Thank you for choosing Play Moments. We hope it brings your family lots of happy moments of play.
